AgentsTide is an independent directory. This page explains exactly how we evaluate the agents we list, what our ratings mean, how we keep pricing accurate, and how we handle the money side — affiliates and sponsorships — so you can judge our reviews for yourself.
AgentsTide is a curated directory and review platform covering the fast-moving world of AI agents. We are not affiliated with the companies we cover, and we don't let any company pay to change a rating or the wording of a review. We catalog agents across coding, research, customer support, sales, multi-agent frameworks, and other categories, and we write a plain-language assessment of each one.
We want to be upfront about what our reviews are based on: structured research, not a hands-on testing lab. We assess each agent against documented capabilities, publicly available pricing, the company's own materials, patterns from user reports, and how the tool fits real-world use cases. Where we haven't verified something directly, we say so, and we point you to the tool's own site to confirm current details before you commit money.
Every agent is assessed against the same core questions. Not every criterion matters equally for every tool — a solo developer's coding assistant and an enterprise support platform are judged on different strengths — but these are the lenses we apply:
What can the agent actually do, and how well does it do the specific job it's built for? We favor tools that are genuinely good at a clear purpose over tools that claim to do everything.
A tool that's excellent for enterprises can be wrong for a solo founder, and vice versa. We try to name the specific user each agent suits, rather than pretending one tool fits everyone.
Is pricing clear or hidden behind "contact sales"? Are there usage-based costs that can surprise you? We weigh honest, predictable pricing favorably and flag models where real costs can balloon.
How much technical skill does it take to get value? We note when a tool is genuinely no-code versus when "no-code" still assumes real technical comfort.
Is this a proven platform with a real deployment history, or a promising newcomer? Both can be worth using — but you deserve to know which one you're looking at.
Every tool has real weaknesses. A review that only lists strengths isn't useful. We include the genuine trade-offs and the cases where you should look elsewhere.
Ratings run on a 5-point scale and reflect our overall assessment of a tool within its category and for its intended user — not a universal ranking. A 4.6 coding tool and a 4.6 support platform aren't competing; each is strong for what it does.
Best-in-class for its purpose. Few meaningful weaknesses for its intended user.
Very capable with clear strengths, and trade-offs worth knowing but easy to live with for the right user.
Genuinely useful, but with real limitations or a narrower fit. Worth considering alongside alternatives.
Has a place for specific needs, but most users will be better served by something else.
AI tool pricing changes constantly — tiers get renamed, free plans get retired, usage-based costs get restructured. We try to keep our listings current, and when we discover a tool has repriced, we update the listing across the site. But we can't catch every change the day it happens.
Always confirm current pricing on the tool's own website before you buy. We link to every tool's official site for exactly this reason. If you spot a listing that's out of date, we genuinely want to know — you can reach us at the contact address below.
AgentsTide is free to use, and we keep the lights on two ways: affiliate links (we may earn a commission if you sign up for some tools through our links, at no extra cost to you) and clearly-labeled sponsored placements in our Featured section.
Here's our hard line: paying us never changes a rating, a review's wording, or whether we mention a tool's weaknesses. Sponsored placements are always labeled as sponsored. An affiliate relationship never earns a tool a better score. If a tool we earn commission from has real downsides, we say so — because a directory you can't trust isn't worth listing in, and isn't worth reading.
AI agents evolve faster than almost any software category. We revisit listings as tools ship major changes, reprice, or shift focus, and we add new agents as they become relevant. A review reflects our assessment at the time of its last update — always cross-check current specifics on the tool's own site.
